$25 pressure washer

I bought an Ex-Cell 5.5 horse 2200 PSI pressure washer on the 127 Yard Sale two weeks ago for $25. I put some gas in it when we got home and it started, but I hadn't felt up to messing with it until today. There must have been some gunk in the carburetor that took a while to clean out. I ran it full choke for the first tractor and a half that I cleaned with it. It was either full throttle or quit,no middle of the road governor response and didn't have a whole lot of power. By the time I was done with the second tractor it idled right down and sat there pickin'em right off while I got another tractor out. The elbow on the carburetor where the gas line hooks on is cracked and drips,so that'll have to be replaced.

My old electric one has gotten so anemic that it's not much better than a nozzle on the end of a garden hose, but the first tractor I washed with this one was the 1850 Oliver and it was a mess with dried grease and caked dust. That thing blew it right off like nobodies business.

SO, you starting a tractor wash business? If so I will bring one or so of mine over, going to repaint the 2705 and need it all cleaned up but my brother took off with dads electric one, so there is no seeing that one again.

You are a really lucky dog. Good buy! So many people just don't get the message that those things need to be hooked up to a garden hose and the air released! nothing like blowing up your pump with steam. NOW the Briggs and Stratton on my trac-vac does the same thing now and then. I bet you will find some water in the little cup bowl on the bottom of the carb. Check it out. Only takes a few drops to mess with it.

Got you beat; my neighbor gave me a 3500psi washer. Only thing wrong with it was the alcohol laced fuel had dissolved the fuel hose. He's not much of a mechanic, so he tried to fix the leak by wrapping black electrical tape around the hose. He's an electrician, a good one, but anything not electrical he's lost. I just cut a foot off my 25' reel of hose and had it fixed in a minute.
