I used my JD 420 to work up the garden this spring , then added numerous bags of cow and
sheep manure, now I have a great crop of purslane, what is the best remedy other than
trying to physically remove it?

2,4d will kill it. Only other way is to physically remove it. Dig it up by the root if possible, and get it completely out of the garden. Otherwise it will take root and begin growing again. We have been fighting the stuff for several years now.

I don't mind weeds - especially purslane, plantain white clover and sweetwell. They are all ground hugging.

It's the Queen Anne's lace, chickory and buttercup that make it obvious. This year was a bumper crop of Queen Anne's lace!

I think grasses only make up 15% of my lawn. We're mostly wooded and I don't fertilize or plant a lawn. It just happens.

I've seen purslane grow to about 2 feet tall. It doesn't always stay groundhugging.

Turn a few Pigs loose in there, they'll rototill your Garden for you and eat everything in there, roots and all.

Then you butcher & eat the Pigs.
