I picked up an 8N and a NAA near Amarillo in June. The tool box on the NAA had several hitch pins, bolts and clevis pins and an old wrench. Everything was very rusty. This morning I cleaned the wrench up and got somewhat of a surprise.

The scale in inches is to measure the depth you are plowing. Many people think it to measure the fuel level in the tank - I would not recommend putting a metal item in the fuel tank.

I have several. My brother has the one that came with grandpas 8N. I asked if I could have it. He said no.

The Ferguson version of this spanner was designed for just that ken . Each inch increment equates to one gallon of fuel in a TE20 or Fe35 petrol tank .
I suppose the worst thing you could do is check the fuel level with it just after measuring your furrow :)

My father bought an 8n in 1951 and it came with that wrench. Marked in inches to use as a gas gauge, the big end fit the pto, front wheelhubcaps etc. the small end a lot ot other nuts and bolts on the tractor. Also came with a box end wrench one end for spark plugs and the other end fit other nuts and bolts on the tractor supposed to be all the wrenches you need. Plus a wooden handled screwdriver and others.

There were a lot of 7/16 bolts such as on the top link. The small 11/16 end was handy to adjust the top link in the field. Also the 15/16 end was handy to adjust the plow coulters in the field

Nice find!!

(I think my husband gave me a Ford wrench like that... for my rusty wrench collection.)

IT's a Ford plow wrench,I have about 20 of them, still see them from time to time, wouldn't recommend using it for a gas gauge, one spark and you're toast!
