Exhaust blower

I need an exhaust blower to get rid of exhaust fumes from a small tractor when it is running in a closed shop. Something like car dealers use but smaller.I need to get rid of exhaust fumes but don't want to suck out the shop heat in winter. Any suggestions.

I use a length of 3'' flexible steel hose when the large petrol generator runs in my barn . No power needed , no fumes in the barn whatsoever, just poke the end out a door or window . Hose gets a bit hot for the first two feet , after that it's safe to place anywhere .
The piece I have is about eight feet long and came from the scrap yard , I have seen similar hoses used on combustion heaters and furnaces .

"Any suggestions"

Yes.

Do your maintenance/running/playing with it outside in the summertime.

find an old heat pump someones junked. It has a 240v fan & 240v squirrel cage blower.

I found some exhaust hose at a yard sale years ago, use it sometimes. Make sure the end is not just not blowing back into your shop. Google exhaust hose , found several for sale not cheap but worth it . joe

Have the boys from the local fire department bring the Draeger gas tester around sometime when you are operating the tractor in a closed shop even with a fan.
There are some people here that did not obtain a passing grade in basic chemistry and biology .

Lack of common sence too. When you pull a
cubic foot of air out of a garage, you pull
in a cubic foot of cold air. To keep the air
safe will require exhaling too many cubic
feet of air.
Push engines outside.

If you pipe the exhaust outside with a well constructed discharge pipe and feed the engine intake with air from outside the shop with a hose you will not be sending out air that you heated and wasting it. You will actually be using the fuel to help heat the shop. Think about it. Sam Womer(PA)

Run a gas detector around your setup and you will find dangerous levels of CO. Unfortunely CO can not be seen, smelled or tasted. People dosed with CO usually have no clue and think they are just tired, sleepy, have a cold or flue.

Let's see this with Bubba pulling his tractor or vehicle into a shop. Just how much in building heating do you figure on saving ? Did you see a diesel gen set in a building and now figure your truck and a length of hose are the same ?

Nothing was worse than dealing with stinking exhaust hoses [that leaked into the shop through gaps] when I worked as a Harley mechanic. Just go outside.

Last shop I had between the exhaust system and air make-up unit you could safely run a semi inside.
So yes it can be done but that system was $40 000+ 15 years ago.

Running an exhaust system without make up air will quickly create a vacuum inside the building that will back draft your furnace or woodstove and either shut it down or introduce deadly exhaust into the building.
