Check with a real "old school" hardware store. They have display boxes of springs of various shapes and sizes, probably find something that will work. Or McMaster Carr has springs.

I googled "bulldog trailer hitch coupler" by highlighting it, right-clicking and selecting "search google for bulldog trailer hitch coupler", and clicked on the first choice which was etrailer.com, a company I have done business with a couple times. They list various parts and assemblies that meet that criteria. It truly is that easy.

If you go to the bulldog web site you can search for who is your local bulldog dealer.
They should have or can get the spring.
