My john deere 3010 locked up when coming to a stop. I had to back up to get it free then ran fine for about 4 miles down the road then did it again. Now the starter will not turn it over fast enough to start it if I turn the power take off on it will not turn over but may one turn then nothing. acts like something is binding in the rear end

Will the engine start if you hold the clutch down?

If yes, it's a drive train problem.
If no, it's the battery, starter, engine, or an accessory binding.

I uncoupled the front hydrolic pump witch is only about 10 hours since rebuild and the tractor started up great. I can turn the pump by hand for about a half a turn then it gets hard to turn. Is it something in the pump or do I have a reliefe valve somewhere that is no releasing the pressure?

Try wiggling the steering wheel while cranking the starter. That can bleed off takes some of the pressure on the hydraulic pump. If that helps there is solenoid that can be installed, I forget what it's called. That topic comes up fairly often on the John Deere forum during the winter months.
