septic woes

Hi all, I have a problem with drain flies in my septic tank. The larvae gets so thick that they clog the filter and it backs up about every 4 months. It started with me getting too close while mowing and cutting a hole in the plastic lid. The flies got in before I got it patched. How can I kill the drain flies and get rid of the larvae? Thanks in advance for your help!

Charlie , we use these or variations of these all over Australia .

Our flies are the worst in the world , commonly referred to as ' Dunny Budgies ' Yours sound just as bad , the secret is in the bait , a dead prawn in water left in the sun is what you need . This must smell better than Chanel no.5 to them .
I would make a fly wire cage to go over the hatch hole and put the trap in that .
