workshop fridge

My mini fridge in the tractor shop has stopped cooling, the top freezer works fine so I'm guessing the compressor is OK. It is a Frigidaire with an upper and lower door.
Any ideas what to check first?

Photo of sunrise just to make this post nicer to look at.

Is the inside fan running? If you have high dew points it might need to be defrosted.

I'm in Virginia and the humidity here is thick.
I will check that.
It is stuck under a workbench and I haven't pulled it out yet. I will do that and vacuum the coils etc.

2 things come to mind.
#1 there is a fan that pulls cold air out of the freezer area down to the fridge area if it is not running or you have the freezer so full if can not move air that will cause it.
#2 if it is a frost free one the defrost timer may have stopped working and if it has the coils get clogged up with ice and will not let he fan move any air and also cause that problems.
I have a side by side that did that and the defrost timer had stopped working so I had to manually make it do its job for a while then it started working on it own again

could be ice in the passage way between the freezer and fridge.
Unplug it for a few hours.
We get that all of the time out here on the coast.

If it makes ice them refrigerator, which is old school design, no fans, doesn't like the heat. Put refrigerator I your air condition houses and see what happens.

We had that happen a couple of years ago and found a mouse jambed into a blade on the cooling fan causing it not to turn. Got that out the fan took off and what a difference in the lower part.

I buy them for around $50 or so, 14 cu ft range, in the want ads when people are trading up or moving. Like the ones with the condenser coils vertical on the back.....nothing to break, nothing to get dirty, no fan to worry about, do a great job, cheap to run.

I like the condenser coils on the back, trouble free. They don't work that well in hot shop. That's why I said his workshop frig may not be working well. Last time I wanted to buy a new one, they are no longer sold in stores.

Mine is maybe 25 years old. Shop has been running in the low to mid 90's lately. Ice section is at the top, separate door. Working fine....Ice is rock hard. Just depends I guess.

I thought the original post mentioned Mimi frog like ones used in dorm, very small.

Don't remember when R 12 was ban. I think those worked well in a hot environment.

Today's 134 might work in heat but ice cream might melt.
