My grandpa has had this tractor for around 40 years and never changed the hydraulic oil. We took out the filter and drained the small amount of oil that was left. Cleaned up the filter and put it back in, and put around 40 litres of oil into it. Now when he first started it there was no hydraulic system but the transmission was still barely working. Now the transmission is not working at all.

We think this has to do with the pump? We have tried opening a few lines and getting any air out but no luck so far. Anything that can get us closer to fixing this thing would be absolutely amazing!

Deutz used to say 20wt motor oil later said you could used 15W40 in every thing engine ,trans ,hyd or use whatever you use in your other tractors if it will get mixed any way.

I go for more venting and working any involved levers back and forth 10's of times, including transmission shifting devices. Unless you clogged an
intake port on the pump, I don't see how you could have hurt anything.

Is there a ⅛" (give or take) plug anywhere on the high pressure side of the pump where you can install a pressure gauge, or just open/crack the
port and see if oil comes out?

You reinstalled a disposable used paper cartridge filter ?
Any external hydraulic loads such as a loader or hydraulic cylinder ?
