Hello,

Just found it this morning. Oak box with stainless hardware. Leather handle is gone! Calibrated 1953. Weighs a few pounds. Serial # in the paper is the same as the one in the meter face under the glass. No leads though. I used a set that I have and reads the same voltage on both a/c ranges. The knob on the power left has a + AND -
It says that is an a/c meter, but accurate .02 percent on direct and alternating current. Any one know what that means?

It means that the meter is accurate plus or minus 0.2% at full scale. Also you have to add or subtract the voltage by the scale correction chart to get your correct voltage. in other words if you were to measure 100 volts and the full scale reading is 100 volts then you would look at the chart. 100 volts has a near 0 correction, so you neither add or subtract. Since the full scale reading is accurate to +/- 0.2% you would simply multiply 100 volts by 0.2 % or 0.002 = 0.2 volts. Therefore you can assume the reading is somewhere between 99.8 and 100.2 volts,

The + and - knob simple reverses the polarity of the leads when measuring DC Volts.

Thanks... I wanted to see How accurate it is on DC. My DC lab power supply set at 30V...... Check the pictures. Now I wish it had 1 volt graduations, as most of my DC work is 30 volts or less!

Hello Andy Martin,

I have a good set of leads from an old 260 I used for checking the meter out. But I had to set the pointed end tight at the post to get a reading. What kind of end does your meter have. I can probably just use an Horse shoe type, and keep one on each of the measuring posts? Or just make one out of copper and tin it?
