I was talking to a guy about low expansion foam for around replacement windows and I said I didn't like working with that Great Stuff low expansion foam cause it's messy. He said get the white spray foam with water clean up. Anyone ever used it. I found dap brand but now sure it's what he was talking about.

Definatly use only low expansion,Great Stuff and others offer both. It's all messy, wear gloves and keep clean up tools close by while useing any kind of foam.

Yes he is talking about Daptex made by DAP. It is a latex foam rather than a polyurethane foam.

The pluses are it stays spongy even when cured so it will not warp windows or doors and can be cleaned up with soap and water.
The minuses are you can not trim the crust off the cured product because it will absorb water and it does not stick where you put it as well.

I did some windows with the daptex and it is less messy than other foam spray. This dap is like whipped cream in a can and it doesn't seem to expand very much so you have to slow down the nozzle speed. I like it especially for smaller gaps and the tube is slightly smaller diameter than the great stuff tube.
