Changing an oil pan gasket on a 310 German Engine

I'm getting ready to change the oil pan gasket on my 706, I was wondering if there are any tricks and/or warnings I should know about?

The front (I think front, long time) and rear of that engine have small triangle shaped seals in between the block and the aluminum seal retainer parts. I would use a bit of the best gasket sealer you can buy in those corners and along the seal retainer as that is where they always leak.
