So, I just had a chance to look at the compressor again. I noticed when viewing the pump it has and arrow on the housing showing a CW rotation but it's turning CCW (as looked at in the photo). Hummmm. So I looked at the compressor again and the big cast iron pulley/fan is (as facing it in the photo--other side of the machine) turning CW/sucking air from the compressor cylinder vs blowing air toward it. This seems wrong. It also seems wrong given the curviture of the fan blades to me. So I'm wondering if the motor is turning the compressor backward and that's the whole problem.
Now as for the motor it says on the data plate it runs CCW but it doesn't say if this is viewed from the pulley end or the other end. If it's the pulley end it's as viewed from the pulley end it's turing CW. So I looked at another compressor I have and it's motor says CCW and it would be doing that viewed from the pulley end.
So I'm thinking this motor is wired to run the wrong direction. I understand they are reversible but I've yet to research how to do that.
Input would be appreciated.
