Reuse, repurpose ideas

I'm always looking for a way to reuse worthless items.

I take 32 oz powerade bottles, fill them half full of water, freeze and take about 4 of them with me. 4 bottles will last me until lunch. I add anything I want, powerade, lemonade, tee, water, diet drinks, to keep me hydrated.

I took an old baby carriage and put a fan on it. Use it to keep cool while working the pole barn.

I made a work bench out of two pallets that had plywood tops. Put wheels on it. Stores nicely under the front bucket so it doesn't really take up floor space. It has really come in handy as part of my elevator system to put items I may only use once a year.

My latest is making a mower 5 inches off the ground to cut small honeysuckle in rugged terrain in the gravel pit and clean off flower beds in the fall after the frost. I used a worthless craftsman DR string trimmer clone to put on top of the 33 inch snapper mower deck which I put a 30 inch blade on.

Now I can store it in the 6 ft shelf at the end of the pole barn.

BTW, We celebrated father's day yesterday with out 3 annual BYOB in the gravel pit. Son got an electric clay pigeon thrower. Holds 60 clay pigeons, really sweet. BYOB, Bring Your Own Bullets. Massacred about 300 clays, hope PETA doesn't try to stop us. I'm feeling my right shoulder, 12 gauges fault.

I'm always looking for something new to make out of worthless things.

Please share pics of your green ideas.

I put half full Gatorade bottles of Gatorade in the freezer then finish filling them up with the same. They stay cold all day in a small cooler and keep my lunch cold too .

Have refilled bottles and froze them and used them to keep cooler cold and as they thaw out you don't have your food floating in water like loose ice. We never reuse them for anything we are going to drink.

On that mower? If you remove the leading edge of the guard that protects you from the blade? It will cut very tall grass more easily.

A wet sponge in a zip-lock bag and placed in the freezer for a bit makes a good ice pack for sprains, etc. 8)
