Mobile-home wheel

Does anyone here know for sure what pickup trucks have wheels that will fit my equipment trailer? I do NOT have it here so cannot go out and measure. It has the old
mobile-home axles and wheels back when the wheels were closed-center and steel, just like a pickup truck. Tires are 7 X 14.5" just like the newer axles with the open-
center clamp-on rims. I had a spare given to me a few years ago that supposedly came from a 70s Jeep pickup truck. 5 lug with a 15" tire that was fine for a spare.
Problem is it fell on somewhere on my last trip and now I'm looking for another spare. 5 lug and last I checked it seems to measure 3 1/4" between two lugs closest to
each other - center-to-center.

Probably 5 on 5 1/2" ford pickup or jeep but you need to measure the center hole. some 2500 dodge vans have that pattern too. Back spacing might be an issue also.

Pardon the pun but there's no need to reinvent the wheel, take a ruler to it and find out in less time than it took to type the question. It's impossible to guess what will fit a home made trailer.

I have never ran across a set of 5 hole mobile home rims and I have been pulling them for years. Ya the old donut type and the 6 hole type that the Chev 6 hole rim it the same but NEVER a five hole one. But either way not all that hard to figure out. If you where in my area I bet I have more then one rim that would fit but then again I have a lot of old rims around the palce

Agree, looks like my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport tires, which also fits my 1994 Adam livestock trailer.

Jd go to a mobile home park -- those rims are not that uncommon around here. might have some one give you some to get them out of their shed.

You might get lucky when buying something, and you might waste your money. You really should measure across the bolt pattern to find out if it's 5", 5-1/2", or ? You should measure the diameter of the center hole where the hub comes through because not all are the same and you might buy one too small and I've seen that happen. Personally I'd measure the offset from the mount to the inner wheel edge where the wheel meets the tire bead just to be safe to make sure that it doesn't bring the tire in too close to the fender or on the other hand be reversed and stick out too far. Then like Cinderella, go find the right slipper. Bolt patterns, hub diameters, and offsets very and with different mixtures. You work too hard for your money.

Good luck.

If you get the right bolt pattern. Then you can always bore out the center to fit your need. Put 16" wheels on Toyota that way.

Maybe you did NOT read my post? Trailer is not here. 80 miles from me right now. So yeah . . if it was here I'd just measure it. Not the case, and thus the reason I asked on this forum. Not so strange to ask here and maybe find someone who knows what wheel might fit, is it?

A 70's Jeep wheel would have a 5 on 5 1/2" lug pattern, but looking at your pictures, the lugs look like they are too close to the hub for the bolt circle to be that big. I have a trailer with travel trailer axles and I think that a wheel from a 70's 2-wheel drive Toyota fits it.

I used to have a 18'trailer that I made out of a mobile home frame cut way down
"Think" it used 15" Chevy wheels, don't remember having any problems finding wheels
years ago and trailer long gone
wish I could remember better

Crawlerjohn---I dropped in a new transfer case and it runs very well--the 4-71 starts on first revolution........................

I figured a man doesn't usually leave his trailer where he doesn't know people and they might be able to help in a pinch. Don't know why you would need the wheel any how until you are where the trailer is. Based on the information you furnished, the wheel is 5 on 5.75x6.5 wide with 1 inch backset.

Not any help till you get to trailer, I have cardboard so called plates from wheel and trailer replacement companies. They have several holes arranges in different bolt patterns . Very handy , can give four on four all the way up to eight on eight. Try calling Red neck and other trailer folks. They will usually send couple free of charge. I keep one in tool box and one in camper. Very handy if on road and ruin a wheel and need to know exactly what to buy. The holes fit over the studs or hub holes. Its a temperament could not think of word before and still cannot spell it. Spell check does not even know the word. LOL

Dont forget to measure the rim width. Newer rims tend to be wider like around 6-7 inches wide. It will make a difference when your mounting the tire.

If it matters? Go to a local VIP or similar cheap auto store and look for some American Racing rims. New they are around a bill a piece. Yet you get nice looking chrome.
