How far below the depth guide is the spike you welded on there?

3-4"? that's kinda what it looks like in the picture, want to do the same to my Pony, keep it from running away.

Thanks

Fred,It is 3 1/2'long from the bottom of the slide rail.I made that one so it could be bolted on and removed if it needed to be.But I have never found any need to remove it so it could be welded directly to the slide rail with no adverse effects. You will love the improvement that makes to your tiller.I sharpened the front side so it would help cut through the grass and weeds.

Hate to tell ya but some thing is missing. On My horse I have a bar that goes from the front of the tiller area to that adjustable bar you show.
If this works right you will see item #8. I welded a little skid onto the bottom of that bar make it work even better in my sandy soil. Go buy a couple of new parts and things will work better! That #8 is the actual "depth" bar.

What I'm wanting to do is put the spike below the #8 bar to dig in the ground and keep this Pony (both tines rotate the same direction...forward) from running away with me.

I'll do it bolt on so I can remove it if I want.

Tried it out tonight, helps hold the tiller back for sure.

Always had a spike on front tine tillers, never thought about putting one on the Troybuilt.

Thanks again

Fred

Fred, you could have welded it on because you will never find the need to take it off. It makes a real tiller out of it doesn't it?
