Just received an email from Amazon. Today they are having a 1-day tool sale, including a 170 piece set of Crescent hand tools for $79.95.

Don't have any of their hand tools; did have several Crescent adjustable wrenches back on the farm when they were the best available in the marketplace.

Grand nephew on the farm told me recently that he is saving money to buy some tools for himself. Can't tell him yet that when I pass all my tools will go to him -- because I don't know when that will be. He'll end up with duplicates, but then you can't have too many tools, can you?
 
My grandpa bought me a Crescent set for my 16th birthday. I really like the look and feel of Crescent tools.
 
was told crescent was no longer made in north america. I dont like foreign products, however I consider Canadian same as US.
 
I'll bet you could sort your tools and come up with about 25% you don't need now. I know I could. Give him some every year starting now.
 
HIs Dad (my nephew) started farming with virtually no tools, so I've stocked him up over a 20 year period. Now I am giving tools to Grand nephew, so 20% are already gone. My brother and his Dad will handle shipping after I pass away (whenever that happens). I've kept the good tools just in case. I just do oil changes now on the vehicles; if there is anything major wife insists that I take it to a shop. At this point I can no longer lift the heavy battery into the Tundra; take it to Wal-Mart or call Triple A. Chemo treatments have severally drained away my strength and may not recover much of it at my age.
 
I recently was working on my truck (Kenworth) and needed a larger metric wrench then I had. I went out and bought a set of crescent metrics (not a lot of choice on a Sunday) because I thought they were a good brand. Almost took them back! I had to use the open end of the wrench and could feel the open end bending and thought I was just going to round the corners of the bolt but then it did come loose. I thought the wrench should have been better.
