I had to replace the solonoid on my Camaro. The solonoid was wired as follows...Battery Cable from battery to the large terminal, wire to the solonoid to relay it and two wires together on the big terminal with battery....can I not put those two wires on the terminal opposite the solonoid terminal ? These would be the feed wires to ignition and all electronics in the car, seems to me the terminal opposite the solonoid terminal would be live all the time and the main large terminal would be live all the time...six of one ..half dozen of the other?

I will probably put it back that way but my question is based on"whomever put it on may have put it on incorrectly" , there are two terminals
on the solonoid "S" and "B"

The other BIG lug on most solenoids goes directly to the starter motor. So NO.. do not put the wires on the other big lug...

S = "start" or "solenoid".

The other little terminal is "R" for "resistor" because (for those applications where it is used) it bypasses the primary ignition ballast resistor during cranking to compensate for the lower battery voltage during cranking and keep the spark "hot".
