JD 15 XE pressure washer - no pressure

I have a JD Pressure washer Model 15XE that will not build up pressure. Motor runs fine and pump is turning. Keyway is not sheared or missing at the coupler. Any ideas? I had this sitting in my garage for a couple of years and just trying to get it going again.

I have included pictures of the pump and relief valve. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Forgot to mention, if I turn the knob for the relief valve all the way in, I do get some pressure, just not enough to do much work! Thanks

Sounds like the unloader valve (in the lower picture) is stuck. Carefully take it apart and free everything up, lube it with some dish soap.

Hello frmr96,

Take the adjusting valve out. You may get lucky and find a broken spring, or a rusted check ball, Just keep
tbe parts in order. Good luck!

Guido.

Look's similar to my cat pump that would do the same thing any time it sit idle too long. Stainless steel disks and seats would stick togeather. I'd remove cap #1 and clean parts 5-6-7 and it worked good as new. The solution was to winterize before lay up regardless of season. The anti-freeze/lub used to winterize is sold anywhere pressure washers or airless paint sprayers are sold.

Well, you were right. I unscrewed the knob all of the way, and then just gave it a tug and things pulled out. Found the spring in 3 separate pieces and lots of rust in there. Found a new valve on eBay for $30, so went ahead and ordered that tonight. Thanks
