I'm sure I am not the first guy to think of this, but here is a project I did last winter. Ellis

I remember Grandpa buying nails out of something like that.
I was in my thirties, Grandpa was in his eighties and the year was 1995.
Love the small town hardware stores.

My hardware store still has nails in wooden bins. He raked the nails out and weighs them on a brass balance scale.

It'd be my luck,I'd drop something, bend down to pick it up and it would fall over on me and cut me in to eight equal pieces. lol

I have something like that but the one I have says USAAF on it as in it comes from WW-2 and was used by the U.S.Army air force.

Those bins certainly beat baby food jars and coffee cans. People can say what they will about TSC but I like paying by the pound for nuts & bolts.

I'm a suburban kid; are those disc harrow things, or whatever they're called, that the bowls are made from?

I bought a 100 ACRO bins from Northern Hydraulics back when they were called that, and hung them on a 4x8 sheet of plywood and hang it on the wall. Then I can unhook bins with the 3/8" nuts, washers, and bolts over to the project and then put them back when the bench gets overrun....
