Torque amplifier

I needed more strength to remove hydraulic connections, 9/16 and 11/16 open ends. Most of the fittings are in tight places. I tried all the usual tricks, using another wrench to make them longer, pipe extensions. Keep in mind, tight places and I only have two hands. So I made torque amplifiersn using high quality metal, cheap rusty recycled metal. What else would anyone expect?

I'm getting a little lazy too. If I can, I rebuild the hydraulic cylinder while it still on the tractor. Lately I'm having pin hold leaks develope in welds that are 15 years old. So I have no choice, have to remove cylinder. Even had a pin hole leak in axle of Jubelee, 63 years after it was made.

BTY, on the topic tool quality. Have craftsman tools, but here I'm using cheap HF tools. Yet to break them. Leave them on the amplifiers hanging next to other tools.

I even have sets of cheap HF tools on tractors. Never broke any, but have lost them.

I have HF wrenches in my truck for emergencies but find the open ends bend and round the corners to easily. I recently needed a larger metric wrench then I had and ran out and was able to find a set made by Crescent, I got the bolts out but these were also bending, I almost took them back but ended up keeping them. Oh, was working on a Cummins in my Kenworth.

Bill, iron worms put holes on metal. They poop a reddish color substance. Terramite eat wood.

What would you tell students, take notes?

Wow never realized they used that tiny of lines, even my little mini excavator has 3/8 and larger hoses. Seems it would be a bit slow and limiting especially with only 2000psi

Just the opposite, I have to run at 1/2 speed or controls get real snappy. Perhaps the pressures is over 2000. Not sure. Does size really matter when things are speedy, you have great control and you get the job done? I'm very happy and so is.....

On the other hand. Neighbor buys a new BX23 bota. 3 more hp engine and diesel. Don't know what the hose sizes are, but just the opposite on the terramite. Better than a shovel and wheelborrow, but not in the same ball park as the terramite.
