Is this Voltage Possible?

Got a never used old phone. Our cordless phone went out and I ran across this one in storage.
Got it right before cell phones became popular. Going to need a new battery if we can get it to work.
It's a long range cordless. Says range from 40 to 60KM.
That would be nice.
But the charger says 220V in. Yet it has a regular 110V plug.
Is that possible? I thought for 220 it take 3 wires. I know they use a lots of 220 overseas.
But isn't the plugs on them different?
This may be the reason I never used it when I got it.
Don't remember.
Indicated light doesn't come on when plugged in. But that could be because the battery is bad.
The manual show a different charger with two indicators. "Power On" and "Charging".
This one looks the have only one light. Most likely "Charging".

It shows 220 volt 50 hz so it is for use in lets say Europe or some where like that. Chargers here are from my experience 120 volt 60 hz I think you will need a different charger.

If it's a switching power supply charging a 6V internal battery. It won't make a lick of difference if the AC input is 120V, 240V, 50HZ or 60Hz.

Hey, plug it in and see what happens.

A 40 km range sounds a bit fishy.

Google the information from the phone and see what the world has to say about it all. But 220V 50Hz looks European.

The latest cordless phones I have purchased connect my land lines to my cell phone so I only carry one phone around the house. Matter of fact, the cell phone charges via the cordless phone unit. It has Bluetooth and you can connect two cell phones.

0km = 25 miles..................way more than "fishy"

A well designed voltage reducer won't care if it is 50 or 60Hz nor will it matter if the voltage is 220. Anything over about 12V should get you the 4.8 volts required for the charger to work.

Perhaps it's a simple mistake in reading the specifications , it's probably 400 to 600 metres , or even more realistically 40 to 60 metres .

Yes, a type A plug which is what you show is used in Bangladesh for 220 V 50 Hz A / C / D / G / K May be more places it is used, google plugs of the world to check for more places.

Years ago a friend of mine had a wireless phone. His house was about 1/2 mile from the road.

The phone line was run overhead from the house to the road, where it connected to a junction box and went under ground. I discovered that as long as I walked near the overhead line, the wireless phone would work all the way to the street.

I would assume in an area where the phone lines were still overhead, the phone would continue to work as long as it was in range of that circuit, which could give it a very long range!
