brand new welder

Yesterday I finally decided to pull the trigger and order a new welder, this is the first brand new welder I've ever bought, I'm still using my grandads old Lincoln Idealarc 250, have a couple older mig welders and a small tig machine. I grew up in a family of farmers and iron workers and started learning to weld about 12 years old and at 56 I'm still learning, in my family if your were a teenager and couldn't weld people figured there was something wrong with you.

I have a job coming up to weld about 30 pipe rail panels and figured a new welder was in order, my old mig is getting a little tired, so after all the research I could do I ordered a Lincoln Power mig 210mp, has anyone here had any experience with one of these machines?? I was able to test one out at a local welding shop where a friend of mine works and it welds great but I wonder about durability.

I know there's a lot of guys here with a lot of knowledge, would like to hear opinions on this machine, I know Lincoln had a problem with the drive rollers "wobbling" leading to inconsistent wire speed with these machines but they say that problem has been taken care of.

I'd been seriously thinking about buying one if I couldn't get somebody to fix the fenders and battery boxes for my Oliver 500. I dropped them off at a different body shop a few days ago. If this guy can't do it,I'll have to buy a MIG and try it myself.

We have one in the shop at work that the welding guy bought personally. He won't spend a dime without thinking about it and researching it forever. He bought one and loves it. Had the rep out recently for another machine and he did a software upgrade with his laptop. Pretty cool.

I'll post something about how it runs in the next few days, always been partial to Lincoln but I have blue welders too, have an older miller big 40 mounted on a trailer and it's still one of the better stick welders I've ever run.

I bought a Lincoln 150 mig welder because I had an old Lincoln stick welder that was great. The mig welder was a piece of crap. It was always broke, mostly the nylon gears that fed the wire. I had it back to the dealer 3 times and Lincoln twice. Every time Lincoln had it it cost me $75. Will never buy another Lincoln. I have had 2 Millers and they are really good. I used to work for a large national welding supply company, and was told by the boss not to sell a Lincoln unless the customer insisted. He said over half of the Lincolns they sold ended up being returned. We never stocked Lincoln, but would order them. I do have 2 old lincolns, the newest being over 40 years old. They were good back then.
