Neighbor gave me this metal gas can. The plastic spout is cracking. Is there a cheap fix? Hate to buy new plastic cans. I have five cans that are cracking.

Shoot I have 3 or 4 gas cans the plastic type that I have picked up along the hwy on my way to town. Seem that they tend to blow out of the bed of pickups so I have increased the number of gas cans I have by maybe 1/10. I also use a 40 gal. used saddle tank from a pickup as my big bulk tank and that cost me to time to pick it up out of a guys junk pile

Years ago my one uncle had a slaughter house/meat market and had the small can goods. On the shelves the small can were .23 a can. When the town had sidewalk sales he would put a big sign on a large wooden stand and put the cans out mix or match 4/ $1.00 and would sell all his stock.

I had a bunch of short lumber left over from tearing down an old crib. I tried to give it away and no one would take it. I even advertised it for free on Graigs list. NO takers. I advertised it in the For sale section for $50 a pickup load and had the phone ringing off the wall.

Now the cheap part. I torn that entire crib down on a friend's farm for the 12 inch framing lumber. I got over 200 2x12 16 foot long out of that building. Now I just need to find a good sue for them. LOL

If crack is where you can clean it up JB Weld will work. I had an Echo top handle saw that tank was part of chainsaw case and was plastic. I cleaned it up and roughened up case with fine sand paper and JB welded it and it was still holding 5 years later when I got a new saw to replace it.

I was cleaning up a rent house, had an old refrigerator I set on the curb with a "free" sign. It would get cool, not cold. No takers. At lunch I made a $25 sign and a nice lady took it and gave me $10 promising she'd be right back with $15. My wife said "you'll never get your money". I told her it was free and if the nice lady thinks she's stiffing me for $15 the joke's on her.

I don't know if you could repair those unless you could find a way of putting a completely new spout on it. Those cans are meant to be through away cans.

They have lasted 5 years. Remember I'm cheap. Only need to keep the dirt out. I have a giggler hose that sucks the fuel out. I did find some glue for $3 one oz for gas and oil. Going to try doing something before I pitch them.
