I'm in the market for a Tire Pressure Monitoring System "relearn" tool for use on late-model GM vehicles. Any recommendations?

This unit has good reviews and isn't too exorbitant. Anyone have experience with it?

We don't use the Kent -Moore. I have not evaluated it . We have two units and I prefer the ATECH. We have the VT55. It has an internal battery which helps because we don't have to worry about low batteries and running out to get more. It will also do key fob's.

Have you done any research on your vehicle? There may be a way to reset the TPM without a tool. I was looking for one also for my Ford then I read how to do it without one with an Internet search.

TPMS resets are a PITA... I had a TIPS tool it was a project to get it to trigger most sensors I got so fed up with spending hours fudgen with it I brought a Bartec Tech500.

About the time I spent my hard earned money on a Bartec the market became flooded with TPMS tools... It can be a challenge to reset some models I recon if all you do is work on chebbys are one manufacture it becomes EZ. I did a 2012 Fusion a few weeks ago the windows and sun roof did some strange things when I went thru the process  A Kia is a time eater also I get $25 to do a relearn I don't make any money at it but its something you have to do...

My thoughts are its here to stay suck it up and deal with it and get a nice piece of equipment that will at the least save time...
For a DIY'er it may be cheaper to pay a shop to do the song and dance if it takes special equipment. Shop around there is always someone who will work for peanuts...

I carry an inferred thermometer in our motor home. When we stop for a break I do a walk around and check the temperature each tire.
Have caught a couple of soft tires on the trailer.

The first time I ran into a relearn all I had on hand was a big magnet
I had salvaged from a radio speaker... It would trigger the sensors it got me by. You may give it a try. There is another way to do it with out a tool if you have the time but requires you to let the air out (about 8lbs) to wake the sensor up...

When in relearn mode all the tool does is wakes the sensor up it sends a signal to the module the mod recognizes the location you move to the next one... Sounds EZ but it can be time consuming when time means money...

So yes I need to move on to the next victim I mean customer and don't have the time to fudge around with hit and miss relearns... Its going to be a big market in the next few years when sensor battery's start to go out its starting now...

The sensors need to be serviced when a tire is replaced if you tire man does not sell you the service then I would look for another tire man... He's to lazy are does not know the deal with them and its you that will pay the price...

Look it up in the owners manual first, then internet search. I don't know the specifics on your truck but a lot of GM products can be reset/reprogrammed by initiating a button sequence then raising/lower the tire pressure one at a time in a certain pattern.

I have the one you linked to on order, as I deal with mostly GM cars. FYI, it is cheaper on the GM tools website. GM products '12 and prior can be learner by the pressure drop method, '13 and up require this tool.

Good tip! Yes, the price from the GM service tools website is 76 bucks with shipping and tax. Amazon price works out to about 90 bucks with shipping. I don't see where the GM site offers local pickup; if they do I could have saved myself 12 bucks as they're located close to my work. Got it on order now.

Yes, I've heard the newer GM vehicles can't be programmed by letting air out. Wife's car is a '12, but I've got a 2016 Silverado on order.
