mc culloch chainsaw

Don't waste your time with mix ratios. As others have suggested on this site, and now I'm a believer, get that Opti2 mix (one packet for each gallon, works in everything). I started using it in my antique McCulloch years ago and its never been happier.

Go with the Opti-2 you can use the one mix in all your 2 cycle equipment. I have been using Opti-2 for over 16 years and have used it in McCulloch, Poulan, Husky, Stihl, and Echo chainsaws and weed eaters.

I'll vote for 40:1 oil/gas ratio. Google it and that's the number that usually shows up. I have five or six McCulloch chainsaws ranging from 12" to 20" plus two McCulloch weed whips, and all call for 40:1 in the manuals I have. But the universal oil works fine, too, and 32:1 will maybe smoke more but will be OK. Good luck working on the carburetors on some of the smaller McCulloch saws. You have to just about disassemble the entire saw to get at the carb. The bigger saws (e.g., 605, 610, Timber Bear) are more user-friendly to work on.

Hello gfi

3.2 ounces to 1 gallon or 40-1. 89 octane. I got one of those.....

Guido.

The manual that came with mine (Around 1980) said to mix 40:1 if using McCulloch oil or to mix it much heavier-either 32:1 or 20:1 if using some other brand of oil. That said, with the improvements in 2 cycle oils, it will probably live just fine with 50:1 JASO rated oil.

Parts are pretty much obsolete for that saw, though. And time consuming to work on. If you need to do anything in the carburetor you will have to take the saw completely apart.
