Works better than driving over a board.
Wire brushed the bead, slimed it, leak fixed.

Slime works for me. It cheaper to have a tire store put 2 gallons of slime in tractor tire, than for me to buy two gallons.

True wrong tool and I have the equipment to do it the correct way and I also have a back hoe that will NEVER be used to do that

eorge, sadly, you are a major lightening rod for critics! They see your name and the adrenaline flows! Me, I see your name & look to see what interesting thing you have done now.

i have to confess too george, i use my backhoe to break beads down on tractor tires too. i have a tire sledge hammer, but i am getting to old to swing it anymore. now off the record, lotta guys if the bead is rusted to the rim will dump about a cup full of gas around the seam and let it soak in over night. it softens the bead and it pops off easily. yup, thats what i hear lotta guys do that, yup. also hear a loota guys with a tough bead to seat will give it a quick shot of the good guy starting fluid (like from john deere) and a match with a quick wooof, and the bead is up. yup, i hear lotta guys do that too, yup!!!

Jmor, You are right. It's like I have a
sign on my rear that says, Kick me.
Something I feel like Rodney
Dangerfield, I get no respect. Why,
what did I do?

Nice to hear from you.
I have a creative red neck idea and I'm
doing it wrong. George

I saw people in the artic inflate tires with charcoal starter fluid and a match. Kinda of neat. I hear you when you say you can't swing a sledge anymore. There is a long list of things my old body can't do anymore. That one of the reasons I got a terramite and an electric chainsaw. I can't even start a saw, but that doesn't stop me from using the electric. I just pull on an extension cord one time.

Guess getting old means learning new tricks.

BTW the slime on the bead is still holding, tire is up.

This was to shift a tyre on an AC 45 wheel that had been there for ever. I had to chainsaw the centre out on its mate and oxy the beads off.

The dozer is a FA 10 which has quick drop down valves on the blade so it is the hammer rather than hydraulic down pressure. And the frame is much easier to rotate than the wheel.

Then you use it up-side-down to get the centre out of the tyre.

Whut he said,,, I am happy to say I do not have to do those minimum wage jobs... :D I hate every min I waist doing tire work unless its mounting new tires I sold with a nice mark-up...

Speaking of minimum wage. I work part
time at a tire store when I was in
college installing tires for a buck an
hour.
