Ratchet straps

Where is a good place to by light duty ratchet straps?
All I need is good ones to haul the garden tractor.
I've got good 2" straps for bigger stuff but I'd like
something better than Harbor freight or Wallmart.
Thanks for any help.

Also harbor freight. Four of them for around ten bucks. Depot costs more. Have used the HF ones for three years now and then on my trailer and they still work fine.

The cheap ones at HF don't have the ratchets to tighten the strap; their clamps will slip and allow slack in the straps. Buy the $13 (sale price) ratchet straps so the straps will stay tight. BTDT.

It's not so much where you buy, but what you buy. Look for the thick, heavy strap. The thin, soft material will not hold up. Also look at the gauge of the metal in the ratchet. Same as the strap, if it's thin and flimsy, it won't hold up.

Be ware of the ones packed in the plastic display tray. They are in there so you can't see the poor quality!

Menards or Loews has them, Local hardware store stocks them, local farm and home store stocks them.

I needed some for my pickup which is registrated Commerical. I can only use DOT approved. thought Tractor supply had a good deal but doesn't say DOT on them. I did find a good deal at sam's Club.

Look at the bars that wind the strap in the ratchet. Some are solid and some are just pressed steel . I like the solid ones better.
