Someone on another Forum is wondering what this is. Can anyone sharpen the Pat. no. enough to read it, or does someone know what it is?

I was hoping someone would know what that is
I have something either similar or just like it in box of junk a few yrs ago and have never figured out what it is or for or even a use for it

The spring indicates the tool wants to close, squeezing the handles opens it up??? So you put the tongs inside something to expand it, and the tong "stops" sets the minimum space it can fit into or is allowed to be forced together. Nice puzzle. Leo

IALeo its funny how different people see things. I see it as the spring forcing it open and squeezing the handles closes the business end. To me it looks like it would tighten something by installing crimps or pleats to accomplish it. Or maybe it is a wire clamp crimp tool.
It is hard to tell the size based on the picture.

Looks like it has a patent number cast into the handle, if so you can google search the patent number and that might help.

You are correct--the tool is a plier like tool...duh. I am thinking it crimps or shrinks stuff, I have a tool that crimps stove pipe ends but it is constructed to go perpendicular to the pipe end. Maybe it fors kids to make "hurtz donuts"? Leo
