Command Strips

Anyone had any experience with using Command Strips?

I'm wanting to hang a picture on matte finish ceramic tile. The picture weighs 5 lbs, the maximum rated load for the product I was considering using. The picture has glass in the frame, which would be no big deal if it fell and broke, but I'm hanging it over a granite counter top, and if that got broke... Well, it would not be a good day!

I would keep a towel under it for a few days, just in case! But if it held for a few weeks, could I assume it's there to stay?

Or should I just drill a hole in the grout joint and sleep better?

Drill that hole !! Make it in the grout so you can patch it easy . Even changing weather conditions might cause it to release it's grip...

I've used them a few times. Most of the time they've held okay, a few times they've let go, and a couple times they didn't come off the wall, had o pull paint off with the adhesive. I prefer nails. Easy to patch a nail hole. Well, except in tile...

Can you fasten a wire up high to hang down to the spot you want the picture and attach the picture to it. A thin wire won't show much and you might avoid damage to your tile.
