Tractor hydraulics

I'm puzzled with the hydraulic outlets that have only one hose for the implement. I understand you can use and the weight of the implement lets it down. But can I use this setup with say a disc that has two hose from the cylinder with only one hooked to the tractor any info and help is appreciated thanks.

You can use a two way cylinder with a one way tractor system if you place a breather in one end of the cylinder. There are little breathers available for that purpose. In my climate, you want to mount them inverted,(with elbows, etc.) because water always wins.

So long as the unused side of the cylinder has a vent installed it will work. Watch out it will probably be full of oil that should be drained first.

Be sure that pressure in not too high for your 2 hose cylinder.
The older Allis Chalmers tractors used somewhere around 3000lb. pressure, with only 1 hose. Where most other makes used a low, less that 1000b. 2 hose system.
