Hello,

I have finally found one that works. The turning handle is about 3 1/2 inches, very easy to turn.
It cuts the top of the can and it has a magnet to retrieve the lid,

Guido.

We recently got the kind that sort of slices around the outside edge of the can - under the rim.

I never gave much thought to a can opener, but I've got to say this thing is really easy to use.

It never misses, and it's got a little jaw/gripper on the side, after you open the can, you grab the lid with that - like a mini pair of pliers, and it pulls right off.

No more lid dripping down into the contents of the can.

Hello JRsutton,

That was my last fiasco. Worked pretty good for awhile then.....................POOFF!
Even the electric ones are junk, no matter what name brand, the are all made in China, at least the ones I bought,

Guido.

I have seen those can opener but have not known any body that has used one. JRSutton does it leave a sharp edge on can like the others leave on lid?

Ours cuts around the inside of the rim in such a way that there is no sharp edge on the lid, nor on the can itself. Ours is a Pampered Chef. Love it!

We have the Kitchen Aid and its good but don't know where its made. We also have a Farber Ware that is made in Italy and a Fuller Brush that is made in Western Germany and both are not bad ( these are standard can openers).

Hello d beatty ,

The last fiasco was the one that cuts around. Nice cuts but did not last.....,junk! Mine was an OXO,

Hello old-9,

I no longer have mine. Miss it, especially when buying junk ones lately. This one looks good for the long run,

Guido.

We had one of the pampered chef ones. It got dull or weak and you would have to make two or three rounds to cut the lid off. I got tired of it and threw it in the scrap barrel. Bought a new regular looking one at the grocery store. It cuts on the inside or outside but even cutting on the inside it leaves no sharp edge to cut you.

I have an ancient electric one on a shelf in the shop somewhere that I have threatened to use but it is a little rusty.

Haven't seen a "John Wayne" in while but I think there's one around here somewhere.

Got the one that Dad carried in the Pacific back in WWII. In fact, I had to break it out the other night when my wife's Pampered Chef model finally gave up the ghost. Still works like magic...

Guido,
I ordered one like yours from Amazon after seeing this post. It came in 3 days. Used it tonight, worked great, minimal effort to turn knob. Thanks

Garry

Hello Garry on NC,

Glade you like it! The handle is what sold me on it. It cuts good as
well. Now I' m going to buy some of that company stock! HA!HA!
