Hello,

It has been awhile but I think this one came from Radio Shack1? No zip code on the address. Any one has something like it?

I have a couple, but it's been awhile since I've consulted one. I think mine came from Radio Shack or Allied Electronics.

These were made by International Resistor Company. They were sold at most radio parts stores for 10 cents. I have one some where with my old radio parts.

That is what we were taught in Navy Electronics Technician School. It is not politically correct today and banned.

Heh. I went to ET"A" school at Great Lakes long enough ago to remember it that way.

You think that's not PC, you should hear the mnemonic for remembering the order of clutches on a Model 28 Teletype page printer...

Yep. That's what we were taught in Avionics school more years ago than I care to admit to.

There were "crutches" for everything. I recall one graph for plotting the performance curve of a particular vacuum tube. I can't even recall what they stood for, but the coordinates were MUEBIB. The "crutch" was "My Uncle Eats Beans In Bed".

Hello Fawteen,

Teletype? HA! HA! We called it pressafax when I worked at Litton Industries. No I'm not going you tell you the year!

My daughter builds airframes at Spirit aviation and recently got a mass email proclaiming that from then on they are to refer to sidecutters as sidecutters, and the word dykes is never to be used on company property.

Haven't prohibited "dykes" yet at work....but I got a sideways look when I told 'em a motors peckerhead was cracked.

So if it were a persons name, like Frank, would everyone whose name was Frank have to change his/her name ?

Got one of those around here somewhere of Radio Shack origin. It got some use last year when I was sorting through some loose resistors for an adjustable power supply I made.
