daughter is going to be doing some traveling and her destination has 127v 50hz electricity. will her cell phone, computer /camera chargers work on that? we are 110v 60 hz . or is some kind of adapter needed? they have type a/b plugs there.

ome will, some will not.....read the info on each device. Clearly if plugs are different, adapter will be needed. 127 & 110 as you say (120) likely fine, but frequency difference matters on some devices, so read tags. Curious, where is this, as much of rest of world is 220-250v?

Most adapters say what voltages and frequencies they can handle. You'll need to squint to read the small print on them. Most laptop power supplies will take anything from 100 to 240 volts, 50 to 60 hz.

Some items will run warmer to hot.Inductance increases on 50hz requiring wiring to carry a greater load, motor windings, transformers etc that work great on 60hz will run warmer on 50hz some go up in smoke.

ell, you are in the "area". Inductance remains the same, but inductive reactance decreases with decrease in frequency, which results in higher current. X = 2 x pi x f x L

Have her take an extra can of smoke. May need to put some back in. Also check if all wheels on plane are tight. Don't want another John Deere type wheel incident.

None of the items you listed will have any trouble whatsoever. The voltage difference is very minimal and the frequency will make no difference at all. My son and family live in Germany, when wife and I go to hug on the grandchildren we plug our phones, computer, tablet my shaver into 240 volts 50mhz with no trouble at all. Now I read the very fine print (waring 2 sets of readers) on the wall chargers all of which were labeled for 100 - 240 volts and 50 - 60 MHz. Even my 35 year old Norelco shaver was label that way. Now my wife did let the smoke out of her curling iron and simultaneously blew a circuit breaker in the apartment.

SWMBO and I have been there several times on diving trips. The wall pack transformers will be a little warmer, but everything will work fine. It's our favorite place to dive. Mark

t that frequency, no need to plug it in, just use antenna.
