I've never seen a Li-ion battery that comes with it's own charger, a digital display and 4 amp-hr rating. It's tempting. My dewalt Li-ion is only 2 amp-hr rating. Look at pics, one charger has a normal 120v plug the other doesn't. Before I get one, I'll call the seller.

Opinions, anyone buy a 4 amp-hr LI battery?

I have quite an assortment of Ryobi cordless tools, all taking the same battery. Last summer on a consignment auction I picked up a box of stuff for $15 that included a Ryobi lithium-ion battery and a charger for it. I already had some five healthy ni-cad batteries, but I wanted another charger 'cause I have tools strung between two buildings.

Works great and the battery lasts longer than the ni-cads. The charger for the li-ion will charge either type of battery, but not vice versa.

My Milwaukee tools are 18 volt lithium ion 4 amp hour and the new tools now come with 5 amp hour batteries but like you I haven't seen a charger like that usually the battery is inserted in the charger

tjv,
In 2009 I purchased 2 dewalt Li 2 amp batteries. One battery died. I took it apart. I thought I was looking inside a computer. The battery had a built in charging circuit that went up in smoke. Back then 2 batteries and the drop in fast charger ran about $200. I've read one of the issues with Li batteries is thermal run away causing fires, so I'm guessing that's why there was a computer charger inside battery.

The 4 amp battery from amazon comes with it's own charge,r may be it's a slow charger so there is no need for an internal computer like charger, no need to worry about thermal run away.

I think I may be getting a 4 amp battery soon. Never liked Li in the past, too expensive and only 2 amp wasn't enough for me.

I believe craftsman has a 4 amp lithium.

I had already bought 18 volt dewalt drill and impact driver when I first saw them advertised. The ni-cad the craftsman came with was enough to take out the 2 speed trans in the drill so I probably would have went dewalt anyhow, if I had seen the craftsman first.

Would have gone with Milwaukee but that's like USA-made craftsman vs Snap-On.

I have seen dewalt is going to the Black and Decker 20 volt lithium, and has an adapter to run the 20 volt battery in the 18 volt tools.
