coating polished alum.

I have some parts on my 48 Ford that are alum. and cleaned and polished. What would be a good clear coat to spray them with ? Thanks

I have coated aluminum, brass and copper many times and yes yellowing will occur with cheaper paint.
Just don't bother with Krylon---worst spray paint I ever used!

Google search ALUMACLEAR . We use it on the semi truck wheels, tanks and alum trailers in the construction ind. Spray on dry and from then on wash with soap and water.

Water glass or sodium silicate. Guys that restore British motorcycles use it on all the polished side covers. Just do a web search for it.

Used to be a product available that was supposed to waterproof ign wires, It was nothing more than clear lacquer.
We put it on new chrome rims to prevent rust, it worked well.
Clear powder coating would work but would be more costly.
