Hello,

A 2002 Volvo opens a garage door when the driver's door is open. It also does it with the back door! Believe it or not! Seen it do it to-day. I just walked away "%&" *#+

Does the garage door shut when you shut the car door? Would make it hard to get the car out of the garage.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm sick of electronics in cars. I have two broken down nobody can fix because of electronics.

Hello Stephen Newell,

No, it opens the door just as if you used the door remote.

Hello bill in in

This one is smart! It has heated seats. Also different auto settings for seat positions. At least three different fuse Panels. It has a built in garage door opener that can be programmed. Built in baby buster seat, 600+CCA BATTERY,

I was working with the Swedes from ABB cable company and I made fun of Volvo styling as a joke . They didn't laugh they just looked at me and said "We are a very practical people" . Then they brought up that sports car Simon Templer used to drive. So I guess they did have a styling dept. at least at one time. Maybe it is supposed to do that.

n 2002, it was a Ford, but since 2010 it is a Geely (Chinese).

Last time I bought a car I told the guy that I didn't want a car that told me things I didn't ask it about or do thing that I didn't make it do. gm

Hello rd 2n in mo,
Not my car, I can ask if that is possible. I think the unit is a Charmerlain?

Guido.

Hello dr sportster,

That car has been going through that door for the last 12 years that I know of. I guess it just leaned how to do that trick? It does have what Volvo calls a home convenience group, or something like that. It is a new one on me. I may tell the owner to reset the car computer and see if it will do the trick!

Its been years ago, a friend had a vehicle that 'talked' female voice said 'your door is ajar', etc. I thought it was pretty cool & ahead of its time back then. anyone recall what it was? I'm thinking Chrysler, it was USA.

talking car, yes a Chrysler 'E Class'. fancy medsize. I had one about 1985/86. A company car, I let my daughter drive it one Saturday. Damn thing didn't her to drive slow, the road was 'icy', she slid into a tree and totaled it !

Hello Dr sportstet,
He said that his son went in the car to get something from the driver's door. That is when he found out that the garage
door was open,

Guido.

My Jeep Laredo was parked at the farm , keys on the console doors closed but unlocked . A light aircraft flew overhead just as I was approaching the car . I heard the clunk of all five doors closing at once  Some stray radio signal activated the master locking circuit. I had to wait four hours for the roadside assitance man to come and attempt to open the door . Idiot caused more damage than a Dingo in a dunny . I ended up having to pick the lock myself .

One car I've had to four mechanics and two of them fixed something that wasn't broke and 2 of them said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Yet you can go to the store and come out and it takes 30 minutes to an hour to get the car running. My wife and daughter are afraid to use it. The other car I've had to 2 other mechanics and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and I ended up having to tow the car the rest of the way home. I've started trying to work on it myself. The motor has duo cams and I think the cam shaft sensor has gone bad and you have to do a major engine tear down to get to it.

Hello Charles in Aus,

Opening a locked car door is not that hard. I have used a coat hanger. You can also use a piece of rope with a loop. There are many videos on Utube, including lock picking. It is hard for most people to get in a locked vehicle, the guys on the videos make it look so easy. Certanly less then it took you to wait for the dingo in a dunny,

Guido.

Hello Stephen Newell,

Is it possible for you to borrow a code reader? It is got to be gas or spark. Easier to diagnose when it acts up. Something as simple as a bad connector can be a bugger to duplicate,

Guido.

Both cars have gas engines. The car that has been to 4 mechanics is a 1987 Oldsmobile Delta 88. It's obd I and I have a code reader for it but it's so primitive it doesn't register any codes even when it's malfunctioning. The last time my daughter took the car to town she couldn't get it started so I went to help her. The first thing I did is put a code reader on it and all it was registering was the diagnosis mode. After cranking on it for a while it finally started and ran real rough for a minute and then did well. The other car that I think has a bad cam shaft sensor is a 1999 Ford Contour. It's obd II and while I don't have a code reader for it I'm sure the mechanics that have been working it had one.

How bout a 2003 Dodge pickup. Sitting idle for hours shutoff. Then by it's self the radio comes on and is playing like the truck is lonely. Have had that happen many times and have yet to find out what it is that's causing it.

Funny thing too my wife is Kristine to so maybe I have a truck complex thing going on here.
