I am looking for one. Any one that you like and to start with I thought about a light with a magnetic base so I can use it both on my drill press and my late. Good idea or not? Thanks for any help. J.

I have several two for my tractor work and five in the shop around my milling machines. They are great and mine came from "ENCO". I don't the supplier that ENCO got them from

Danray makes some very nice gooseneck equipment lights.

I got one of those single LED jobs with a weighted base on Ebay. I tossed the base and made a metal bracket to use on my milling machine. I got it because it was cheap, had an 18" neck, was bright and the head was small. It puts out enough light to illuminate the work area and the head is small enough so as not to block what you are trying to look at. I didn't want a magnetic base because they seem to get clogged with flying metal chips. Very happy with it.

I have a couple of ELECTRIX model 7305 task lights. Very handy. But I don't mount them on any of the metalworking machines because the magnets attract steel chips and dust. Also, forget about mounting them on a vertical surface - accident waiting to happen. Machine lights should be hard mounted (as in bolted on).

At work we have been buying Ikea Jansjo LED Work lights. They have an 24" goose neck and are about as handy as you can get. We use them both on their own base and screwed down to shop made brackets.

Great little lamps. And they cost $9.99

Ikea! Who'ld a thought.
