Echo backpack leaf blower

I have a Echo backpack blower that I got used about 3years ago. I like it and it does a good job My problem is this year it is giving off fumes that give me a bad headache. It does not smoke at all. It starts easy and runs good. I'm using 50/1 gas mix just like I always have. I'm to the point where I can't us it. I have removed the muffler and check it, and it is clear even the outlet screen is clean.
Please Help I don't know what else to do.
Thanks Al.

You using good gas or the cheapest stuff you can find?? Could well be poor/bad gas

We run a lot of blowers and haven't had that problem. Maybe try and change fuel brand and your 2 stroke oil brand. Did someone mix your fuel by chance and get it too rich? Change plug?

87 octane to me says alcohol gas which may well be your problem. Step up to the highest grade gas you can that has NO alcohol and a better oil mix also since both are bottom of the line stuff

Sounds to me like you may be sensitive/sensitized to hydrocarbon fumes and probably should avoid them and have someone else deal with your leaves.

Hello translating,

You shoud be using 89 octane gas. Gap the spark plug @ .35 to.40. Never back up when you are blowing, always walk forward. That way you are not walking into the exhaust,

Guido.

Most places use ethanol or methanol (ETBE, MTBE) derived additives to raise the octane level. So most likely the higher the octane the more "alcohol" content.
