Is there any way to search what patients were granted on a particular date if you don't know anything else. Sometimes old tools have a patient date but nothing else on them. This would help us identify unknown objects and tools?

Yes, patent numbers are available online now. You will have to search by patent number, but you can guess the number, then look at the date.

I found my broom vise patent that way. You'll also find patents were issued only on maybe one day of the week. Over fifty patents were granted the day of my vise, Sep 10, 1878.

Festus told Doc that he needed to have more patience with his patients else he would soon have no patients at all.

Put any info on your item in a google search. The patent date should get you info.I have been to a website that you want I'm just not sure where.

Farm Collector magazine always has "what is it tool section" they most always have the patent numbers for the tool and date. Must be available somewhere. Good luck, seems like you find things like that when looking for something else, then can't find it again when you want it. Or maybe its just me lol gobble

You can search by month and year, but even at that it'll probably return a bunch. Worth a try I suppose, although I recall reading somewhere that the dates on old items are often wrong or just plain made up.
