Is a pitch fork a tool?

I found another use for a fork. County mowed the other day. I go for a long walk every day so today I decided to pick up the beer cans while on my walk. There were about 100 cans per mile. It's nice to see people are counting calories. I found mostly Bud lite and Bush lite.

While picking up the cans, I smelled horse poo. When I put the cans a plastic bag, I found the source of the poo smell, the beer cans.

Some day you will be able to pull DNA off those cans and see who threw them out when we get the data base where the gov't would like it to be. Good and bad I guess.

Good luck expecting the government to spend money, which they don't have, tracking down who through the beer cans out the window using DNA. My money is on the government coming up with a reason to tax beer cans.

A good chance DNA records wouldn't help. The police can't solve any crimes where I live. There are no forks in the family tree, all have the same DNA. No dental records either, SOMER TEETH". Some are there, most aren't.

How long you think that DNA will last ,still got 2 beer cans in a plastic bag in the garage left from the scum that broke in and robbed us while on vacation 7 or 8 years ago. County cops weren't too interested in them at the time, statue of limitations ain't up for me yet, still like to take a piece of pipe to their dental work

I just threw that out there because it irritates me also when I have to pick up somebody's empty beer cans off my lawn or along the roads. Right now it would be too expensive to even think about trying to use dna for the roadside garbage, but, if they can take dna off a cigarette butt, if a guy had a suspect for a burglary, it wouldn't be too hard to get a sample from him without him knowing it. Just dreaming here a little.

One city is taking dog dna samples so they can tell who did not pick up their dog's poop. Dont know if its a bluff or not, but it was on the license form for owning a pet within the city limit.

gab,

No joking, you may wish to retain those items. Even if the current enforcement is unwilling, there is evidence that can eventually incarcerate.

Spelling is not my strong-suit. Punctuation even less.

A few years ago there was a county commissioner in Texas (which is an elected official, BTW) that was walking the ditches picking up paper, looking for anything with a name and address on it. Anyone who's name was found was mailed a ticket for littering!

It didn't take long for the media to get notice of it and a state judge to stop it, but in the mean time I'm sure they made a few thousand dollars off people that didn't fight it!

"and a state judge to stop it"

On what grounds?

I assume they were saying no one saw said person throw it there so how can we prove the person that got the ticket was at fault.
So let's see....
Not only did I not throw that trash in the ditch but someone must be stealing my mail and then throwing it out.

That is like the guy that fights a traffic camera ticket because the picture only shows the license plate and not the face of the driver. What if I loaned my car to a neighbor?
I would really like to know; is everyone (but me) loaning there car on a regular basis to the neighbor.

Or you legally threw your mail in the trash and it blew out of the garbage truck going down the road, very possible situation

I've actually seen this. Driving along and noticed a "paper trail" going down the highway. A couple miles later I come upon a flatbed loaded with compressed bricks of cardboard and paper. Paper and bits were flying off and swirling behind in the wake. Think PigPen from Charlie Brown cartoon.

The only response I would have to that is........

Take a drive to town and back home.
On your trip what one are you most likely to see?

1) Someone stealing mail from a mailbox.
2) Someone stealing garbage from a curb side can.
3) Someone throwing something out of a car window.

With the litter problem we have; at least in my area; I think you need to pick 3.

While it would be possible for someone to steal your mail and then throw it on the side of the road I find that hard to believe that it happens very often.

Since most people put trash in a kitchen size garbage bag and then transfer said bag to the curb side can; or even better use a trash compactor; I also find it hard to believe the garbage truck has paper blowing out the back as it goes down the street.
Once again it is possible; but very unlikely.
In fact if the trash on the side of the highway was picked up; I would be willing to bet 99.999999% of it was either thrown there by the owner of the said trash; or blew out the back of the said owners pickup; car window; off trailer; ect.

Hi
I really hope they don't make litter dropping a capital punishment offence in your town L.O.L. I drive the highways here in Manitoba a lot as we live so far from anywhere. I bet on every trip I see a garbage bag on the road where it fell off a truck and is split and junk blowing away. if it fell off a truck and a guy genuinely didn't know, I can see it being a problem with fines before to long.

NOW YOU KNOW WHAT THEY'RE MAKING THE BEER OUT OF.

LOL!

There's a large landfill near where I work, so it's very common for me to see trash blowing out the top of garbage trucks while going down the highway on their way to the landfill. I see it all the time, so to say garbage doesn't blow out of a garbage truck is like saying the landfill doesn't stink.
