Ammonia may not be the best thing for cleaning out chemicals. As a weak base, it is rather reactive and the by-products can be somewhat toxic. Bleach and Ammonia makes BOTH chlorine gas and ammonia gas. Vinegar and ammonia would probably make ammonia gas.

For cleaning vinegar out a better solution (no pun intended) might be baking soda and water. The by products there are much less toxic.

Put vinegar and salt on your cucumbers and you can pick pickles straight from the vine. Wink.
