backhoe teeth

Welded some new shanks on our backhoe bucket. I thought the teeth were held on with pins. No pins. There is a 3/4 inch hole about 1/2 inch deep in the shank and a 1/4 inch hole in the tooth. How is the tooth to be held on? Some ideas were to heat the tooth at the hole and beat it in.

They sound like you have shanks for the (knock-on -teeth) Shove the tooth onto the shank, take a large punch and hammer and bend the side of the tooth into the 3/34 x 1/2 dimple .
