(quoted from post at 22:46:44 09/11/15) Whats a ball park figure for someone to overhaul the carb and fix my PTO that doesn't work.

Thanks

For the carburetor, figure about $50 for the rebuild kit, and about 1 1/2 hours of labor at the going rate in your area, which could be as high as $100 per hour.

Yews, we do need more info before quoting any dollar amount. It's kinda like walking into an auto parts store an asking "Gimme a set of plugs for a Ford" or "Gimme a set of rings for a Buick". Both things happened to me while working at an auto parts store.

When I had a shop repairing trailers a customer (?)called and wanted an average price for a replacement hub. I told him that I had the largest inventory in the area and asked several questions such as how many lug bolts it had and if it was an idler axle or a brake axle. he knew none of this and then he/ she asked the average price. I asked if he /she wanted me to add the price of every hub I had and divide by the number of hubs. Then I told the customer I would only sell a hub that would fit the trailer. I suppose they found the hub elsewhere.

A quite a bit more info is required for anyone to give a reasonable answer. This is like during my brief tenure as a Ford Service Manager, a fellow called from 20 miles away, said he had an F250 pickup with antifreeze dripping off the right side of the engine. He asked me where it was coming from.

From 20 miles away, over the telephone, I'm supposed to know what his antifreeze leak is?

I let a shop rebuild a tractor carb once because I was just too busy at the time. Charged me $200 including tuning and left the mounting bolts loose. Parts were about $25. There is no way he could have tuned it right with the carb loose on the manifold.
