clean as a whistle

I overhauled a engine last week and your not going to believe this. I took out the pistons and took off the rings. The pistons had a lot of carbon on them. I mentioned it to my son in law and he said put them in ( simple green). I immersed them for 24 hr and it ate the carbon off. Made the piston look like new. I have spent a lot of time with a busted ring cleaning the groves out or used the ring cleaning tool. This has that beat. I didn't dilute it just used full strength. After they were clean I used what was left to clean my hands.

Be careful with those cleaners like that and Purple Power.
It affects my liver so I don't use it anymore.
A few years ago, I cleaned up some old syrup mill parts with Purple Power and reached in the 5 gallon bucket with bare hands to get the parts. My hands swelled about double size in about 20 minutes.
Ran cold water over them a long time to get the swelling down.

That is some powerful stuff! It will remove paint just when you don't want it to!

I've had my hands in it briefly and haven't experienced that reaction, but if anyone puts it in a spray bottle, my throat starts burning and I cough uncontrollably! Have to water it down about 50/50, but that still can't be good to be breathing it.
