What do you call the sprayer that you fill up with sixteen ounces or so of whatever you want to use, then pressurize with your own compressed air. This type does not have its own pump. I want to get one but haven't been able to find one because I don't know what they are called.

W.W.Graingers has them. I believe that McMaster Carr also has them. They are commonly used for cleaners and lubricants. They are not cheap but they last if they aren't abused.

I think what your are looking for is called Sure Shot Sprayer

I have a couple of Vaper Spot Sprayer. What I don't like about them is when it sprays its a cone pattern that covers a large area. I would prefer a small narrow pattern. Unless they are 1/2 full it sprays air when you tilt it. Its hard to control the blast its seams to be all are nuttin...

Most of the time I need penetrate its exhaust studs/bolts at the lead off pipe that are hard to get at are any place you do not have a direct shot at so that's were I base my judgments on this type of sprayer..

Do you own a drill?

Made my own bought a valve stem measured diameter of base up to a drill bit. Drilled the hole, dropped a length of fish line down newly drilled holed tied end to valve step to help guide it thru the hole. Pulled it up with a pair of pliers..done. You don't need much air pressure to make this work you will be surprised what as little as 3 lbs. can do. Don't go too high or it will blow the seals in the plunger
