All,
I did not believe that a basketball backboard could have shattered so easily.
Wrapped in 6 mil plastic, taped the glass with masking tape, one single tap of a cold chisel on the edge of the glass rendered it into chunks, not shards.
No shotgun, nor rifled cartridge necessary.
