I want to add a back-up camera to our car. Wife and I are over 75 and our heads don't swivel very much.
Car does not have a console screen.
Looking for functional advice mostly, like:
wired or wireless ?
size of display?
distance marking lines on image?
buy a kit, or pieces and parts?

Thanks for your thoughts..

What driving test? I took my first and last test when I turned sixteen in 1959. (Georgia) But I think everyone including me should have to retest at every renewal. TDF

I've been told that congress mandated backup cameras for all 2016 new vehicles. You could just trade in your vehicle for a 2016 model and be all set.

I put one like this on my 750 massey combine so I could see what was right behind me.

I've considered putting a second camera on it to see the opposite side so I don't back into something when I turn.

Have a cheap one from Wally World on the p-up truck. Camera is at top of lic plate. Screen at left corner of windshield, easy to glance from screen to mirror. Power from back up lite circuit, wireless.
No lines, but when object, such as line in parking spot, hits bottom of screen, it is 18 inches from bumper. Also handy for hitching trailer, can get within less than 1/2 inch on first try, close enuff for coupler to drop onto ball.

I was at a store parking lot a while back walking toward the store with our children when a lady in a SUV started quickly backing up towards us.
She was close enough to hitting us that I was able to connect my steel toe boot to her bumper.
She hit the brakes and stuck her head out the window screaming at me for kicking her truck.
I told her she almost hit us.
Her reply was she would of seen us in her camera or the back-up sensors would have alerted her if she was too close.
A foot away is too close in my book.
I am not saying do not get a camera, just saying anyone who depends on them exclusively is a fool.

New Jersey state test . When backing if you don't swivel all the way first you fail instantly. If your head ain't swived you can't see where you are going.

I have a backup camera and sensors on my truck, still creamed a car that was not where I thought it was.

Distracted driving, my fault.

You can buy a nice total unit for about $75 and install it yourself in an hour. I use a wire system.

Have heard lots of interference complaints on wireless. Must run a wire through the car from the camera to the monitor.

I like mine.

Someone on YT recommended a Pyle back up camera. Best deal at time was Wal-mart on line. I love mine and you can attach a second camera for the front. The field of view is greater than both of my outside mirrors.

I like mine when backing up to hook up trailer.
