Vulcanizing patch tool

Here is a picture of a hot patch vulcanizer I got at a sale two weeks ago. Original color paint was still on bottom so I matched that. Can you still buy any hot patches?

I have not seen the patches a guy can light up in decades. But I do have one up on you I have a hot patch toll that has its own heater built in and it works great on tubes with or with out the glue. I use it a good bit when I am patching tubes. You just lay the tube and patch in it clamp it down and plug it in. Wait about 30 minutes unplug and let it cool and it is done

When I first opened the tire shop in 1986 you could still find a few of them, but I havnt seen them on any supply truck for years.

I've been looking for one of those because I have a hot patch still in it's wrapper.

That's the first one that I have seen with two sizes. I was going through a box of odds and ends recently that came from Dad's and found one, but it only has one size clamp. I believe there are a few patches in there somewhere but they are so old they may not burn. This one is one that I bought back in the fifties, I guess, when I married and left home I left several small tools, Dad used them now and then, when he sold the farm and moved, he threw everything in a box and kept them. Now I have them all back.

I have a couple of these. Even have some patches somewhere for them. Saw news on the internet a few months ago.
