HF Stud Gun

Has anyone modified the HF gun to hold the pins in the nozzle?
They fall out if the gun is pointed down. You have to keep a finger on the pin
and it makes it difficult to place the pin in the right spot.

I have had one for several years, and I've used it whenever I needed it. I've never seen studs falling out as a problem.

I suppose a dab of grease would hold the stud in the gun. Or you could probably put a nick in the stud with a pair of side cutters, but that might compromise the strength of the stud.

Just a thought: Are you using the correct size nozzle for a given size of stud?

I haven't bought one yet but checked it out at the store. I just put a bid on eBay for an H&S 4550 which claims to hold the stud in any position. Also most people complain about the HF stud puller not holding on to the stud, so I'd have to get another puller elsewhere.
Last year I bought some larger HF studs (I think 3mm) for tractor sheetmetal as they were on clearance, so I'd have a supply when I got the gun, but later I found they are too large to fit. I suppose the nozzle could be drilled out to fit.

I have to agree the puller leaves something to be desired. In fact, I've taken to using a vice grips and slide puller with a hook to hook into the vice grips.
